Low prices for tourists in Kiev
With violent riots in traditionally popular Paris and prices high in other Western European capitals, it may be time to consider other big-city destinations in eastern Europe.
One of the most interesting and cheapest is the capital of Ukraine, Kiev. Pounds, euros and dollars go a long way in the city. You can plan for two nights at a three star hotel for around €36.
According to the city trip index 2019, the cost of a weekend visit for two is less than €250. Here are some price indicators to give you an idea of how cheap it is:
Meal, Inexpensive Restaurant 4.90 €
Domestic Beer (0.5 liter bottle) 0.59 €
Cigarettes 20 Pack (Marlboro) 1.19 €
Basic (Electricity, Heating, Cooling, Water, Garbage) for 85m2 Apartment 88.44 € (monthly)
With its shiny gold church domes, museums and modern attractions, Kiev offers a lot to the tourist. And for a price that is a fraction of what is typical for other capital cities in Europe.
