Verkovyna is a popular skiing location in the Carpathian mountains and is one of the highest Carpathian villages above sea level. Every year thousands are drawn to Verkovyna to enjoy the great skiing and the activities available in summertime. There are in fact over 100 natural springs in the area plus many lakes and rivers. Ideal for swimming in after a long day trekking in the Carpathians, where summer temperatures are famously warm.
