Balaclava was until a few years ago, a closed submarine and naval port. Its military role has now ended and the place is quickly being transformed into an upmarket vacation destination.

The hills rise on all sides of the aquamarine waters of the Bay, sheltering the small town which nestles there. New promenades run along refurbished white period properties; sit in front of a cafe and watch the beautiful people stroll by.
