UAP office takes steps to reduce carbon footprint

Olekseii and his bike

Here at UAP we are big believers in doing our bit to help preserve and protect the natural environment. In order to preserve ecosystems and help maintain biological diversity, it’s important to become aware of the resources that we use and what impact this has in the long term.

As a real estate agency we often have to use cars to visit property and clients and this of course has an impact on air cleanliness and uses a finite fuel source. As part of our drive to reduce our carbon footprint we want to reduce the need to use a car as much as possible and we’ve been putting this into practice over the past few months.

On a recent visit to take photos of property ref. C1524, Olekseii from our Kyiv parked his car 40 kms away from where the property was located and cycled a total of 80 kms to the house and back.

It's now Olekseii's third bicycle visit to photograph a house and he told us "this is the furthest I have cycled so far in one go but I am really proud that to date, I have saved 100kms of petrol use. And it helps to keep me fit too!".

In addition to using bikes more, our Kyiv office have implemented car pooling for travelling to and from work and introducing energy efficient far infrared heating at our offices.
